Welcome

Welcome to International Rocket Week 2008 (IRW 2008)
Dear Friends.
IRW 2008 will definitely go ahead from Monday 18th to Monday 25th August, under a new plan and arrangements.
The essential point are:-
1) Kelburn has cancelled the IRW 2008 booking infavour of a Corporate Event, which denies us the Pavilion, and also any Camping and Model Rocket flying there.
2) A IRW 2008 rocket flying will be at the Fairlie Moor Site, where on-site cover is being organised.
3) South Whittlieburn Farm will provide the camping space now unavailable at Kelburn, plus Caravan plus B&B, as vacancies allow. Facilities at this site include: 3 Shower Units, proper Toilets, and Double Basinned Dish Washing facilties.
4) We have the use of a Barn with electric light and power at South Whittlieburn Farm for rocket prep, build and repair, i.e. a Pavilion replacement.
I believe that this new plan for IRW 2008 is entirely workable and with your help and support we can have a great rocket flying event for all concerned.
Onwards and Upwards!
John Bonsor.
There are some important changes to previous years’ IRW arrangements with Kelburn Castle & Country Centre that I need to particularly mention.
1.All flying will take place at the Fairlie Moor site where we hope to set up an Operations Tent.
2.The Fee structure will change this year as participants will have to make their own accommodation arrangements.
3.Although we have use of the barn at South Whittlieburn, please note that it is a barn and not a Pavillion. It will keep us dry and allow us to congregate, but it is not as well appointed as the Pavillion. We will endeavour to get some tables and chairs, but participants are advised to birng their own where possbile.
